The main mineral composition of Chrome corundum brick is α - al2o3-cr2o3 solid solution. The secondary mineral composition is a small amount of composite spinel (or without composite spinel) and refractory brick with 1% - 30% chromium oxide content. There are two kinds of fused cast chrome corundum brick and sintered chrome corundum brick. Generally, chrome corundum brick refers to sintered chrome corundum brick.
Taking α - Al2O3 as raw material, adding proper amount of chrome oxide powder and chrome corundum clinker fine powder, the product is molded and fired at high temperature. The content of chromium oxide in sintered chrome corundum brick is generally lower than that in cast chromium corundum brick. It can also be prepared by slurry casting method. α - Al2O3 powder and chromium oxide powder are evenly mixed, and the thick slurry is made by adding glue remover and organic binder. At the same time, part of chrome corundum clinker is added, and then the brick is made by grouting method, and then fired. It can be used as lining of glass kiln, cover brick of drawing glass flow hole, back lining of hot metal pretreatment device, garbage incinerator, coal water slurry pressurized gasifier, etc.
At present, the application of chrome corundum brick has been more widely used. One kind of chrome corundum brick is made of metal chromium slag. The product is widely used in zinc smelting electric furnace and volatile kiln. The chrome corundum brick has excellent thermal vibration stability and high temperature creep performance, which meets the requirements of national circular economy.
Another kind of refractory brick called Al Cr spinel is widely used in copper smelting, which breaks the monopoly of Mg CR brick.
